About This Page: This is a discussion on NHL Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. So's your face.
The only thing more retarded than singing the national anthem before a sporting event (that is not an international competition) is someone saying that anyone who doesn't think it should be sung is un-American, not patriotic, hates the U.S., etc.
Might as well sing "Let me smell your dick" before the next Kings-Coyotes game. It would make as much sense, and be way more entertaining.
I haven't read any of this thread and don't care to waste my time, but is it really that big of an inconvenience to those of you who don't care or don't want the anthem(s) sung prior to the game?
I think it's a nice tradition, and I like the way the Kings did it last season by having members of our armed forces standing next to the anthem singer. It gives people a moment to reflect and put into perspective what is going on in the world and that the game we are about to watch isn't really that big a deal.
