Go to the bank, take out all of your money, get loaned up to the hilt, put it all on Tampa Bay winning the Cup next year, then get back to us next June, let us know how that went.

I don't know why the lack of respect for B Mel, other than the hair. Congrats to Barry. Glad to see him back in the game.
I'll 2nd that. Everyone seems ok if the Kings hire an inexperienced coach and yet bitch that Barry hasn't coached for so long, he'll be the laughing stock of the league.
Just because he hasn't coached for some time, doesn't mean he's not up-to-date on the new NHL and what's required to coach.

Why? I don't know.....maybe cause he rode Robitaille out of town.....whining to the GM so they would trade good skilled players for goons....and once he got his type of players, lo and behold they couldn't cut it.
On Barry's mullet: 1 hour in that humidity and he'll want to chop it off....

Let there be no mistake, that was Wayne, not Barry. I heard first hand from ownership at that time, who is a good family friend, that it was all Wayne.
Why do you think the hour long retiring of Luc's jersey happened when the Yotes were in town, btw?

Will his first move be to get management to trade away a perennial all-star for some minor league tough guys?

I just happen to be in Tampa this week on a business trip for the comapny I work for. So, as I'm listening to the local sports talk radio and the hosts, "The Killer B's" ESPN Radio 1470 AM, are fielding phone calls from Lightning fans (they sounded fairly split on liking the hire), I'm thinking about calling in as a Kings fan to WARN the fans of Tampa to be ready for something like this to happen - especially when the sound clip of the Barry presser played and he said "The Lightning will hit, be physical...blah, blah, blah."
But, then, I just LOL'd as I rode down U.S. 301 in my rental car and thought, "Naaah! I don't want to spoil the surprise for the fans of the 'Ning."

For those who haven't been here, you'll be BEGGING for 115 degree So Cal weather after spending a few days in 95 degree air temp, 115 degree heat index Tampa weather....with a nice helping of swamp stench mixed in.

It's been well known for a while. It was denied, of course, as you'll see in the following link. But said former Kings owner, who is a friend, has told me that it absolutely was because of Wayne.
I like Barry. I hope he kicks ass.
Just not against the KINGS, if they play each other this year.
Have to give props to the only coach to get us to a Stanley Cup final.

To satisfy Melrose and his claim that they're going to fight and hit, Feaster trades Lecavalier and his new contract to Minnesota for Voros, Fedoruk, & Boogaard.
