Only the media in Orange County would vote this in. Kunitz plays only 13 minutes in a 4-0 loss at home and gets the #2 star. That franchise on all levels are the biggest f'n homers of all time. Just futher cements the obvious, they know nothing of hockey. I figuered Kunitz must of had some scraps or some hits, but nothing.... None of the Oilers goal scores including Penner got the nod for a star....

you mean like asking where to eat, or how good Garon looks has anything to do with this team? During a season as bad as this, what difference does it make what team is talked about or player for that matter. Everytime we play the Ducks this forum is filled with anti Gayward threads so piss off......

That's what the NHL Talk forum is for. Go there.

The print hockey media that sits in the press box and votes on the 3 stars (including the Los Angeles Times reporters) is not part of the Anaheim Ducks hockey franchise ..... unlike certain Ducks TV and radio personalities who (a) are very popular around LGK, (b) do receive checks from Henry & Susan Samueli, yet (c) do not vote on the 3 stars.

Hey Mike, don't sweat it bud, this site is full of guys like this, had their lunch money taken at school, worship 20 year old boys and think they own the Kings!

Oh really? Sounds like a cool democratic system. Ok, could you read who picked the 3 stars in this game? Do it for me, because I can't, I'm getting old, I can't read that well... Ddda..dan... rrrr... russ... rusanov... Hey, it's THIS guy! He is probably some sort of a president of American Press Organization... hmmm, it says "His tenure with the team has earned him the title as the Voice of the San Jose Sharks." Hmmmmm.... are you telling me, the voice of San Jose Sharks was the person picking the 3 stars of the game? Oooookkkk... that' doesn't look very objective/democratic/whatever to me.
I think you are wrong about the selection process, BBOrr.

No **it, great smackdown.
It was just a jab at the quaks, nothing more, nothing ground-breaking, hell there was a forum devoted to the concept of quak bashing here 6-7 years ago it was so popular and now the P.C. Nazis come out, allmost defensively, if it is even mentioned on home-ice, pathetic.
Like some of the Kings players, some King fans need to grow a pair.
Good thing nothing like that would ever happen in LA...
Quote:
Q: Evgeni Malkin was not named one of the "three stars" after his two-goal performance Wednesday, when he scored the game-winner in overtime. Neither was Sidney Crosby, who had three assists. A Kings player was the first star. Do you find anything odd about these results? Does the NHL determine the three stars, or is it someone else?
Matthew Downey, Mt. Vernon, Ohio
MOLINARI: The NHL does not have a policy on how the three stars are selected, so each team employs a method of its choosing. Some use media members who agree to participate, others ask one media member to choose and some have a team official or off-ice official do it.
Kings winger Dustin Brown, who had a goal and an assist and was visible almost every time he went over the boards, was selected the No. 1 star in voting by a media panel. Ballots usually are collected with about five minutes left in regulation, but team officials have -- and often do -- exercise the option to deviate from the voting results, especially if the outcome is determined by something that happens late in the third period or in overtime or a shootout.
Apparently, the Kings officials who deal with such things didn't deem Malkin's performance to be worthy of any star, let alone the first. Same with Crosby. (Jordan Staal was No. 2, Mark Recchi No. 3.) Odds are that slight didn't ruin the evening for either of them, though.
Good thing nothing like that would ever happen in LA...
It happens all the time. It's not like it makes a hill of beans difference anyway. It's just a useless accolade that's being made more useless by the fact that there's homerism included as part of the selection process.

As I watched the tail end of Garon shutting down the quacks last night, I thought to myself, "I wouldn't be surprised if a quack is selected the second star."
And, it's not because it matters in any significant way. It's just that, even if Gaywurd or the quacks weren't behind it, it's so typical of that organization.
I remember hearing the quack radio announcers YEARS AGO (when they were still "mighty") complaining about the fact that only Kings were selected as the three stars, when the Kings clearly dominated that game (yeah, believe it or not, the Kings actually dominated a game).
So, in the end, I like things like this being brought up. It distracts me from what is going on w/ the Kings right now.
