I dunno, the guy seemed like a frowning lump to me the past dozen games. It is not like this was unforeseeable. That and the Senators are out of the playoffs right now. They need a boost or they wasted their season.

Well, they showed this graphic last night on On The Fly how since November 15th (I think) Ottawa's record is 9th best in the East, maybe that's what got Maverick confused.

True, but that didn't stop the Kings the year they had something ridiculous like 600 man-games lost to injury. They never quitE nor made excuses, but finally just ran out of gas down the stretch.

true, but you alluded to Babcock and Stevens, coaches of teams struggling right now due in LARGE part to several key injuries... the Flyers have even just lost Modry for like three weeks and have recalled Denis Gauthier from the minors.
i think Stevens may get the axe at the end of the season anyway though.
the Senators just plain stopped showing up for Paddock, who was a questionable hiring among Ottawa fans to begin with.
