Unless Jaromir Jagr can score 26 points in the Rangers' final 13 games, he'll become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Jagr, whose contract would extend another season at $8.36 million if he hits 84 points this year, told the New York Post he knows what his future holds, but refuses to talk about it.

Damn. He can still play, but he definitely ain't the classic Jagr that got him to where he is now.

He scored 123 points just a couple years ago.

I wonder what his plans are.

If I were him, I'd pull a Kariya and sign with the Pens for a ridiculously low, union hating contract. He's 36, hasn't too many years left in the tank and it would be a great chance for him to make the big show one last time.

I think he should go to Phoenix. They could use a guy like him and have they plenty of cap room.

The ironic thing is since the Rangers have more $$$ tied up in forwards than anyone & almost the whole blueline (save for Staal) is either RFA or UFA this Summer (not to mention Shanny, Avery, Straka all UFA) they probably wouldn't mind Jagr leaving just to get out from under that contract.

I think he will re-sign with the Pens, they could use a winger and it makes the most sense for him to return there and finish out his career.

Where does that leave Marian Hossa if they try to sign Jagr? They gave up a lot to get him IMO. I don't think they will go after Jagr.

Jagr is still a top 15 forward in this league, even at his age.

He will not go to Pittsburgh. He only flourishes when he is the centerpiece of the team. He tends to lose interest as a team's #2 option. So when Drury and Gomez came in, he didn't find any good chemistry with them and then was relegated to the 3rd line with scrubs.
