But on the other hand I have to say that Russia can be a tough country to get used to for foreigners. Moscow not so much, but some other parts of Mother Russia are said to be really tough. Omsk probably does have to pay more than CSKA Moscow.
My friend refuses 5× bigger salary, flat, car and a virtual job for his wife, because his company wanted to send him to some strange part of Russia to build a new factory. In fact they can't get anybody to go there and they are trying to get someone for 3 years now.
If there's some chemistry expert with lots of working experience and ability to actually run a big factory, let me know.

They'll teach you. Friend was doing these classes for three years. And when the time came to go to Russia, he said:
- I'm not going.
- But lotz of money!
- I'm not going.
- You are the best, the company needs you, what kind of loyalty is this?
- I'm not going.
- Your wife can go, too, she'll get a nice salary and be at home doing nothing.
- Oh, she's DEFINITELY not going. I've been there, the nearest decent clothes&shoes store is couple of hours away.
- We'll fire you.
- I'm still not going.
If Jagr stays in the NHL that just proves that the pussy in Russia is a little too cold for his liking.

Best country on Earth my ass. If there was a league of equal strength in Europe, 95% European players would take an equal value offer from that European "NHL".
Reality check: you can sell the American Dream myth only in some parts of Asia and Africa now, buddy.
EXACTLY what I wanted to post.

For while No. 68's agent, Pat Brisson, told The New York Post yesterday that Jagr would prefer to sign a new contract with the Rangers in lieu of reaching unrestricted free agency on Tuesday, he made it clear the winger is seeking a multi-year deal GM Glen Sather doesn't seem willing to offer.
