Watching the Avs/Wild I remember now why I hated Forsberg. He'll give someone a little jab and when they jab back his head snaps back no matter where he gets hit. Slash him on the shin and watch that neck jerk back. Sucks the Avs won the first game as I really want Minnesota to play the Ducks but there is still time. Minnesota looked pretty crappy though and had a real issue connecting on passes. Quite frankly they didnt deserve to get the game into OT so not surprised on the results. On a sidenote, dont remember seeing Simon but Boogard was getting all sorts of ice time. The Avs announcers are no better then the Ducks in their homerism.
Piit-Sens. This looks to be the series to watch. Gary Roberts is a stud. Cant believe that he's not only still playing but still as mean as he was back on the late 80s calgary squad. Very entertaining game though...... has Redden ever won a fight?
SJ-Calgary-All Iginla in this one. He should get the MVP on last nights game alone. That said this has all the makings of a SJ collapse and those who predicted Campbell wouldbt be as successful in the playoff so far look to have made a pretty decent call.
NY/NJ- Didnt watch much of this one quite frankly but it has 7 game series written all over it.
Thoughts?

NJ/NY was a more exciting game to watch than Sens/Pens.
The Altitude homers for the Avs are second only to Hayward, that's true. I didn't watch that game, but I"m not surprised it went to OT. Minny can't rely on shootouts and I don't think they're historically very good in the extra period. Taking a game to OT bodes well for the Avs.
I think Calgary has embraced the role of underdog. I've always thought they could eliminate the sharks, but I think I'm the only one. I think these teams are a way closer match than the final standings indicated. I hate to say it, but Ryan Clowe is an excellent guy to have on your team for secondary scoring. He was injured this year and I kinda forgot about him until last night.

It seems that Gary Roberts missing all that time in the regular season was really a blessing in disguise. Obviously they didn't really "need" him during the regular season and Roberts is the type of player that really shines in the playoffs. Now he's entering the post-season fray fresh and feisty as ever. He can't play 15-17 minutes a night anymore, but he'll give you 8-10 minutes of physical hockey.

(Note: Dodgers, Braves and Cardinals fans everywhere are nodding and saying, "Yup ... been there, done that.")

Hes like the Mike Keane type of player that every team needs in the playoffs, whats ironic is he may be older then Mike Keane. lol

i dont know why you would ever want a wild ducks matchup. talk about snooze fest. each game would go into three overtimes and end up with a 1-0 scoreline.
that nashville comeback against detroit to bring the series to 2-1 was exciting. hope that the preds can even it up, but i have no idea how they can possible win with that lineup.
i think a lot of people actualy called calgary against san jose based solely on the fact that the sharks never do seem to be able to play as well in the playoffs. you look at their go-to guys and each one of them seems to never be able to bring it in the big games: joe thornton, patrick marleau. each of them have been accused of playing without passion. thornton needs to find that animal that he had in him the last two weeks of the season, and marleau. well marleau needs to learn to play with fire and passion. if he hasnt by now, i dont see him ever being able to do it.
if you were to develop a hocky player prototype, i would design it after iginla.

That's because he's old as dirt, and still plays like he's 20 years old. He's not afraid of anybody, and would try to skate through the end boards if it meant his team would win the game, regardless of the circumstances.

Ducks-Wild are the best of the recent rivalries. Dont you remember last years series with Mays cheap shot of Johnsson? Only thing the Wild have changed this season is adding Chris Simon, Fedoruk, and Voros to their lineup.
I would love to see a 7 game series between the leagues 2 toughest team that already have a history of bad blood. On that same note-lets hope for Pitt vs Philly in the east for almost the very same reasoning.
