I don't think he was pushing him because he was mad at him or something and it's not like it was violent shove. Sundin had to be incredibly frustrated and exhausted right there, he just wanted to get off the ice and the linesman moved right in front of him. I'm not saying you should be allowed to push linesmen, but I don't think he should be punished or anything.

i was watching hnic and they did say he was really tired at the end of that shift and they (the hnic hosts) were assuming he didn't realize it was a linesman. now... if it was just because it was mats, they gave him the benefit of the doubt, i don't know. they also mentioned that the leafs are in such a bad spot right now, it had to be a mix of exhaustion/frustration.

Rule 41.4 Automatic Suspension – Category III - Any player or goalkeeper who, by his actions, physically demeans an official or physically threatens an official by (but not limited to) throwing a stick or any other piece of equipment or object at or in the general direction of an official,shooting the puck at or in the general direction of an official, spitting at or in the general direction of an official, or who deliberately applies physical force to an official solely for the purpose of getting free of such an official during or immediately following an altercation shall be suspended for not less than three (3) games.
