About This Page: This is a discussion on NHL Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I'm watching the Ducks v. Flames, and Gaywad is going on and on about how the Flames got away with one and should have been called for delay of game,
I'm watching the Ducks v. Flames, and Gaywad is going on and on about how the Flames got away with one and should have been called for delay of game, and the PBP guy finally told him the obvious: There was a delayed penalty, and as soon as the Flames player touched the puck, the plays dead, so there CAN'T be delay of game.
I mean, come on ... I know that. He should know that. What a freaking tard.

The one that got me is his proclamation that Huselius getting a double minor with under 4 minutes left in the 3rd necessarily means that Ducks would finish the game on a power play.
I liked it when Cujo made a sick save and then he pretty much said the only reason he made the save was because goalie pads are to big these days. However a few miutes later, Giggy stopped Phaneuff(sp?) on a fastbreak and Hawyard said it was all skill and made no refrence to the pads being to big.

Since this will inevitably lead to another Jim Fox/Hayward - which is more of a homer thread, I'll go ahead and get the ball rolling.
Jim Fox is a homer, and his voice inflection "issues" can be annoying, but he knows how to explain the game and provide "color" better than most analysts. He doesn't make mistakes like this.
That said... the ANA radio color guy should be canned immediately. Talk about adding NOTHING to a broadcast. At least Hayward knows the basics.

Jim is a homer, but he knows when and when not to insert his commentary. He also doesn't go out of his way to compliment the minor things the Kings do.

Brent Syveren is horrible. My favorite when he called something "Neidermania"
Btw, has any one ever seen a player get a double minor for spearing. That one confused the hell oout of me.
There is a difference between being a HOMER and a HATER.
Fox is a homer, but I think team color guys are generally supposed to be, at least to some degree. Fox will disagree with a call from time to time or call out a little something here or there that he doesn't like, but you don't hear him full blown bashing the other team and their efforts as much as Hayward does.
EVERY TIME a wrister goes in that Hayward calls a "seeing-eye shot" kills me. he NEVER uses this term to describe Duck goals; only opponents get so lucky.
