They are 2-7-2 in their last 11 games and only 6 points in front of the Kings. Is the AM curse catching up to them? They also have 3 players on injured reserve - Mike Johnson, Martin Rucinsky and Christian Backman. How's Andy looking for St. Louis now?

Holy ****! Backman, Johnson, and Rucinsky! That's amazing three guys on the IR! All of whom suck. The Kings have two players on IR, what's the difference. You make it sound like every injury is his fault. Backman broke his foot blocking a shot something that happens quite often, Pronger broke his last year I guess Randy Carlyle pushed him too hard. Rucinsky and Johnson are down with shoulder injuries. Guess Andy has them doing too many push ups in practice.
Just look at their roster. They have really only 4 scoring threats in McDonald, Boyes(Who is over achieving with 30 goals already), Kariya and Tkachuk. McClement, Stempniak, and Backes have not played as well as they should have. Stempniak who had 52 points last year is on pace for 46, so he's had a pretty crappy year considering you'd hope a 3rd year player would put up better numbers. While Perron is putting up good numbers in his rookie season you cannot expect to rely on him.
Their defense blows. Brewer has under performed as well as Jackman. In Goalie Legace has been spectacular but the Defense is so bad often he's giving up 5-6 goals a game. Murray can't put Toivonen in because he has been even worse.
Beating a Dead Horse, accomplishes nothing. Especially when there is no ****ing horse to beat.

Then what do you attribute their earlier season success to?

At that point their defense and goaltending was really strong, if you noticed they didn't give up four goals in a game till November 9th. Really it looks like their struggles have begun since they were blown out by Colorado 9-5. They've been scoring at pretty much the same clip but defense is bad.
4 Goal games before the Colorado game. 1
4 Goal games after the Colorado game. 10
So in total 12 games they've allowed 4 goals or more(Didn't count the Colorado game above). So Dec. 11th on they've had games where they couldn't hold anything down defensively.
Their top 5 scorers have all played in 52 games so they haven't had injury problems. Of which McDonald and Kariya have both had concussion issues in the past.
They've also done poorly in overtime lately with 6 in December and January.
I think the biggest question is how the team will finish. Personally I do not think they have enough this year to be a playoff team. No matter how well they've played at times. If they can move a defenseman for another forward that will help them. Their 6th(Perron) best scorer only has 20 points and their 7th(Backes) has 19. Even comparing that with LA it's O'Sullivan(29) and Nagy(26).
So, did they over achieve in the first 2 months and are coming back down to earth?

So what are you saying? Have you or have you not noticed the downward trend in St. Louis' game? It's a simple question.

Yes I've seen the downward trend and have watched many of their games. The team is just not good. They have a good foundation but they are a one line team that allows too many goals. They have to run Legace into the ground because Toivonen cannot handle a backup job.
How long do you expect them to hold their record in a tough Western Conference with a team that's not really that good.
ANYone that would rather have AM than MC is f'ing insane. Not just that our rookies probably wouldn't be what they are, it's also this trend that is now confirmed 100%.
