I believe most of us understand quite completely. I believe Los Angeles has a riot damned near everytime the Lakers are done with the playoffs. The prevailing belief is that Los Angeles is a dichotomy evenly split between minority criminal sports fans and movie stars. Unfortunately, those "riots" were really the activity of about 50-80 people (think about that vs the 18k that load Staples for a Lakers playoff game...) that started trouble and were moved block-to-block by an overly-anxious LAPD Riot Squad.
The pictures looked horrible and it made people nationally (internationally) believe things about the entire fan base. We deal with it... now it's your turn.
PS: Montreal also likes to riot because of cancelled concerts... that hasnt happened here, yet.

Sorry to go against you Ruely, but it actually has happened in LA. Several punk shows during the 80's had riots that stemmed from them. Usually wasn't due to cancellations though. Usually it was either because too many people showed up and the venue couldn't handle that kind of crowd or because the LAPD just started so much **** with punk kids back then. Probably still do, I don't know.

um... someone can come in and try to trump all this with the King riots or Watts, but the bottom line is every major city everywhere has had their share of "riots". Pissed off club punk scene in the 80's does not beat....
for the record, Im not saying LA is any better than Montreal. However, I am saying that Montreal is no better than LA or anywhere else so Cammalleri13 should probably temper the superiority complex about his/her city.

Absolutely Ruely, wherever there's a population of people and they're all in one place at the same time, it's a possible riot. Doesn't matter if it's Montreal, Los Angeles, Omaha, or Fargo, this can happen anywhere that has a group of people.
Don't forget the Montreal fans had a huge riot in 1955 also when they suspended Rocket Richard during the playoffs. The city went crazy!!!
Nothing new to them. They also like to boo Briere for accepting an 8 year contract with Philly instead of a lesser 6 year deal with the Canadiens. uuuuhhhh yeah!
