The Ducks just recalled defenseman Bruno St. Jacques from Portland (AHL). Perhaps a package heading out???
Concur, but I doubt the partner is Carolina. First off, isn't that where they got Bruno?? Secondly no way Carolina trades Gleason to the quacks. He is Carolina's strongest defensive defenseman. Maybe some depth scoring at forward??

St. Jacques was signed and recalled because Toughskins is hurt, i believe.
That's too funny. Having to sign St. Jacques so that they can trade a defenseman to make room for a defenseman I mean...
The Ducks currently show 9-defensemen on their roster with Niedermayer and none of them are listed on IR. They actually show 25-players on their roster and Sutherby is the only player listed on IR. I'm assuming that for now, Niedermayer doesn't count toward the 23-man but that they're right at it.

I haven't heard that Niedermayer is off suspension so he doesn't count on the roster.
Burke is in a similar situation as the Devils were last year in regards to the cap. While it's nice to think that 29 teams would collude and think they might be able to trade a junk prospect for Beauchemin, you have to acknowledge that there will be several GMs figuring out more plausible ways to improve their teams while alleviating the Ducks out of their cap quandary.
It cost the Devils a 1st round pick to get rid of Vladimir Malakhov. But unlike Malakhov, Schneider is an actual useful player that several teams have the motivation/cap space to add.
Thrashers are clearing room by putting Haydar on Waivers and sending down Bryan Little on the same day.
