About This Page: This is a discussion on NHL Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. AB just got PWND
Dumb, ignorant fans exist in every arena, some more than others. My two all-time favorite "ignorant fan" moments:
The first one was last year during the ducks playoff series vs. detriot (couldn't turn down playoff hockey, besides, I'm not part of the "if you are a kings fan you must hate the ducks," but that's a whole other discussion). The couple sitting next to us described themselves as long-time fans of the ducks and season ticket holders since 1998. While detriot was in their defensive zone, they made a hand pass, to which the guy sitting next to me responds by standing up and yelling "come on ref, that was a hand pass, call the play dead, come on ref, are you blind." After calming down, I told him that a hand pass in your defensive zone is legal, to which he responded "really, that must be one of the new rule changes in the last year or two," to which I responded, "no, its been that way since I've been watching hockey," ducks fan, "really, how long is that?" me, "going on 22 years," ducks fan, "oh, you learn something new every day." Granted, it wasn't a big deal, but I would expect someone that had been a fan that long to know that rule.
Second, and my most favorite ignorant fan moment occured at a Kings/Avs game back in 2004 (I think). There was an Avs fan seated next to me, and I asked her if she had been a fan of the Nordiques. She responded: "Oh, no I only like the Avs, the Nordiques suck, I hate those guys, I hope we beat them the next time we play them." I just smiled and went back to watching hockey.

The Avalanche used to be the Nordiques, so the jersey was appropriate. I guess no one should wear jerseys of players that they like if they don't play anymore.
So, all you fans of Gretzky, Robitaille, Taylor and any other players not on the Kings roster at this time. Don't wear your jerseys.....
Right...Arrogant Bastard?
Please. I know the Diques became the Avs. Wearing old Kings players jerseys to Kings games is fine. Wearing a Kings jersey to a game at the Pond when the Ducks are playing, say, the Blues is stupid. That was my point. Are you an Avs fan?

Not an Avs fan. I'm a Hextall fan and own his jersey for every team he played on. And yes, I agree its dumb to wear a jersey of a team not playing at the game your attending. I did see a Kings fan wearing his jersey that night too.
