About This Page: This is a discussion on NHL Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. globeandmail.com: ESPN adds Cherry to beef up NHL playoff coverage
I'm so glad to see more and more NHL on ESPN. Whether it's the first highlight on Sportscenter or on the main page (which Evgeni Malkin is right now), it's certainly something that makes me smile.
That's awesome but I barely ever watch ESPN. Hockey is really the only sport I care about and I get my coverage from the NHL Network. If ESPN were to start carrying games again in a season or two followed by NHL2Night, I'd be down with that though. Add Cherry to the mix and that's awesome.

I surprised that ESPN is willing to put a racist, sexist douchebag on the air. I mean, the fact that he's those things doesn't bother me per se (other than the fact it makes him look like the asshat he is), but I would think in general it would be an issue for the ESPN executives.

Well considering they fired Rush Limbaugh pretty quick. I am suprised by this move. I do have to say, I find Don Cherry very entertaining, however ESPN needs to have a foil for Don, like Ron is on HNIC or I dont think it will work that well. On a side note, I always get a kick out of how close Ron and Don sit together, its like CBC is having them broadcast out of a telephone booth.
Edit: Clarity
