i was just about to post this, he had a monster game tonight giving a hand in all 3 of washington's goals.
1 goal, 2 assists, +2
but one thing that stands out to me is that both teams have been hindered big time with injuries.
this one is just sad about Craig McDonald

Why was Boudreau purged? I remember having a great conversation with him in Manchester when I was doing a show at Verizon. He had a great attitude and I liked his take on the Kings.

I seem to remember dano saying it was something about hubie and bruce didn't see eye to eye so mcdonut worked on getting him axed. That's the short version of it though.

That's as good an explaination as any. Basically, McDonough wanted his buddy (Jim Hughes) in as the head coach and was eventually able to convince Gilmore to axe Boudreau...
As far as Steckel goes, the Kings opted for the compensation pick even after he had a very good season under Boudreau here in Manchester. When Boudreau got the axe, Steckel followed him to the Caps. Boudreau had said all along that Steckel was an NHL caliber player that would play full-time in the NHL. The Kings opted to go in a different direction with Steckel...
