Looks like San Jose will send Matte Carle, a 1st round pick, a 4th round pick and a prospect to Tampa. San
Adding Boyle and Lukowich and removing Carle put the Sharks at $55M committed with 19 NHL players signed. They still need to sign Ehrhoff and Goc, who are both arbitration eligible.
From what I have read at hfboards some SJ fans feared a trade for Boyle, because they knew that meant Erhoff was a goner.
Boyle seems to have a pretty good rep. I look forward to seeing what all the fuss is about, because there is no way I am missing a single SJ game this season at Staples Center.

Missed it, but I blame IB since he didn't have him up in the NHL players section of his Cap Sheet for the Sharks. Therefore Clowe was not part of the cap calculations .

That's a much better return (IMO) than what we got for Visnovsky even though they are both the same age, Visnovsky also happens to be cheaper and on a shorter contract. Is Boyle really that much better?
Brad Lukowich is a good guy, happy for him even though he is the throw in on the deal. Glad Boyle ain't going to the Flyers...now san Jose needs to get an equipment guy to handle Boyle's skates...

San Jose over payed, and will continue to pay to get under the $56.7 cap.
Ehrhoff, Goc, and Clowe are all arbitration eligible RFA's. Deadline for them to file for arbitration is tomorrow.
This is the kind of deal that a GM makes when his team can't get passed the 2nd round and he was just forced to fire his coach.

screw McLaren... i'd try to do San Jose a nice solid for taking Blake off our hands and try to get their soon to be ridiculous system back in order by getting them back into the next couple of drafts by trying to poach Ehrhoff and Clowe.
