I disagree. Any team that contributes to the Leafs missing the playoffs is okay by me.

Go Boudreau!!!!

Washington Capitals - Team - Bruce Boudreau

"Boudreau has coached championship teams in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the ECHL and has coached more than 1,000 games in the minor leagues. He led the Hershey Bears, Washington’s AHL affiliate, to the Eastern Conference championship and the Calder Cup finals in each of his first two years in Hershey, winning the Calder Cup in 2006. Boudreau compiled a 103-45-11-16 record with the Bears (a .666 winning percentage), including an AHL-best 51-17-6-6 record (.713) last season. Seven current members of the Capitals played for Boudreau with the Bears.

Boudreau compiled a 340-216-56-43 record in nine seasons as an AHL head coach. He spent four years with the Manchester Monarchs and two years with the Lowell Lock Monsters before joining the Bears. Before ascending to the AHL, he was the head coach and director of hockey operations for the Mississippi Sea Wolves (ECHL), where he won the 1999 Kelly Cup championship.

After making his head-coaching debut in the Colonial Hockey League with the Muskegon Fury in 1992-93, Boudreau took over the Fort Wayne Komets of the International Hockey League (IHL) in 1993-94. The Komets advanced to the Turner Cup finals his first season at the controls, and Boudreau was named the 1993-94 IHL coach of the year."

Yep. He was definitely the reason the Monarchs failed to win a championship. [/sarcasm]

The Caps were going south when they fired the previous coach and brought him up; I'd love to see him get them into the playoffs and do some damage...

So, right now the Bruins are fighting for a playoff spot without...

Marc Savard, their leading scorer.
Chuck Kobasew, their 2nd leading goal scorer.
Andrew Ference, one of their top four defensemen.

...this is in addition to playing the majority of the season without Patrice Bergeron, Andrew Alberts, and Manny Fernandez. And yet, the Bruins keep grinding out wins.

If the Caps miss the playoffs, they have only themselves to blame.

It appears Boston is in.
Looks that way for the NYR too.

One team that was/is within striking distance is Philadelphia, and the NYI looked like they had 'em beat Saturday, leading 3-2 with less than five minutes remaining in the game.

Richards tied it at 15:38 then Briere scored the only shootout goal.

I was watching it closely and was pissed that the NYI let that one slip through their fingers.

remember, Carolina didn't do themselves any favors by losing to Tampa Bay yesterday, and they have to play them one more time... and you KNOW who we're all rooting for!

Its amazing to me that the team with the leagues best player for 3 seasons (sorry Crosby, just my opinion) STILL isn't going to be in the playoffs. This is not good for the NHL.
