Winger Corey Perry suffered a deep laceration on his leg Thursday night and it's expected he will be sidelined for at least six weeks. The playoffs begin in 4 and a half weeks.

Perry was driving to the net in Thursday night's game against Colorado when Avalanche goaltender Jose Theodore's skate accidentally hit him in the leg, cutting into the muscle and tendons.

Bobby Ryan has been called up from the Ducks' minor league affiliate in Portland to take Perry's spot in the lineup.

Well, this has to make Burke both happy and a little scared. Happy that Perry won't get any more opportunities to further inflate his stats before arbitration (which he will go to, don't kid yourselves Duck fans) but scared that his position will be filled by Bobby Ryan, a highly skilled yet unproven player at the NHL level.

yeah hate to hear that someone is injured, but i didnt see any blood on the ice, etc. Perry must have been wearing his super absorbant tampon as usual, which obviosly soaked up the leakage......GO TAMPAX....

VERY big blow to their potential playoff seeding/1st round outcome. They cant score goals at all right now and they just lost their leading goal scorer. It sucks that hes injured but i love it!
