Here is a quick update on the rumoured three team deal with Ottawa, LA and Chicago. Everyone I have talked to have never once mentioned the name of Kings forward Anze Kopitar. I just don't see it happening. I was told Alexander Frolov could be included in a three team deal. To quote our great Chicago Blackhawks blogger Al Cimaglia, "If Tallon can trade Khabby and Barker and get Kopitar in return they should sign him to a lifetime contract. There is no way the Hawks can get a cheap stud player like that and create so much Cap space."
My thoughts exactly Al! There is no way Kopitar is part of the proposed deal that is rumoured in today's Ottawa Sun. I greatly respect Don Brennan's work but I do believe the other four players he has suggested are part of a potential blockbuster deal.
Eklund also called Brennan a bitch and a hoe for that alleged deal. "Even I'm not that big of an idiot to believe it!" the anonymous hockey blogger said.

In the Ottawa Sun, Brennan called it "a hot rumour in NHL circles."
Brennan says the rumour he is hearing is:
Kings get: Martin Gerber and Andrej Meszaros
Hawks get: Anze Kopitar
Sens get: Nikolai Khabibulin and either Brent Seabrook or Cam Barker
As for Kevin and me, we are hearing similar names.
However I don't think that the Sens are giving up nearly enough in Brennan's deal..
The Names I am hearing include these...
Sens get: Khabibulin,Barker and Sharp
Kings get: Gerber, Seabrook and Neil or Vermette
Hawks get: Ersberg,Preissing ,O'Sullivan and Vermette or Neil
i'm happy with seabrook for O'sullivan. given it's eklund, probably none of those players are in the deal

Remember when Anton Babchuk and Cam Barker were the future of the 'Hawks blueline? Amazing how quickly things can change when dealing with prospects.
