About This Page: This is a discussion on NHL Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I think I know which one most of you will pick, but I always liked this comparison.
The most dominant power forward of his era. If it wasn't for Ulf taking his knees out (still hate that dirty bastard), he would have had 500-600 goals.
Cups have nothing to do with it. Scrubs have won cups and great players haven't. Petr Klima vs. Marcel Dionne. Hmmmm.
Neely all the way.
Perhaps you could attempt to draw Cups won into the argument if Neely and Shanahan had both played equally long careers but Shanahan's been able to play over twice as many games as Neely because of the unfortunate injuries Neely had.
I love Shanahan too but Shanny at his prime vs. a healthy Neely, I'd think I'd take Neely pretty easily.
