Curious as to the dollar amount. Smart move by Phoenix though, even if they did overpay. They don't have a single quality goalie prospect in their system, they got handed a talented one on a silver platter by Burke. Would have been dumb to not re-sign him.

It's definitely the right move for them. They've sucked for a while and it was time for them to take that first step toward the playoffs. They've got their potential franchise players in Mueller and Turris. Then you add in Hanzal, Wheeler, Jones, Yandle, Summers and Ross. That's 4 talented forwards and 4 talented d-men all under the age 24.
