I used to like Sean Avery until today. He brought energy and grit to the Rangers and put himself in the spotlight after he was traded from the Kings. Now he is nothing but a punk IMO. That was nothing but the cheapest of cheap shots I have ever seen in the NHL ever. He should be suspended for at least 1 game for that crap. We'll see how the NHL reacts to this when compared to Prongers BS last year. I don't see any more than 1 game, but it is Avery. It will be interesting to see how Avery's star status compares to Pronger's. If Avery gets more than 1 game I'll be shocked, but if he gets 2 or 3 then we know where Pronger is on the star list. I didn't see that. And if he did do it, does that justify a spear to the gut? Granted, it wasn't with the butt end of the stick but it was a spear no matter how you look at it. If Fleury did do as you say, I highly doubt it was with the force that Avery shoved that stick in his gut. Avery is a punk and I'm glad he's not a King anymore. Actuallly - at least according to the commentators on NBC - Avery started it by whacking Fleury on the back of the legs, THEN when Avery came out front Fleury hit him between the legs with the stick. Unfortunately, they never went far enough back on the replay to show Avery's initial whack, and I didn't see it in real time.
Avery is an Agitator, that's what he does. There are face washes and spears ALL the time in the league and the refs ignore it, why should now be any different?
If you think Fleury doesn't like Avery now, wait until the end of the series! Just ask Brodeur.

Don't forget those very comentators have a lot of bias for Pens too. They're the ones who brought up the subject of Crosby not diving on that one play. Why even mention it, if there wasn't a question abt it.
