They are definitely playing well as tonight's 5 - 0 shellacking of Toronto shows. The Ducks will only get better with Selanne's return. They will pass Dallas and San Jose by season's end.
primarily because the season is working out almost exactly as I suspected. Only difference is that the Ducks took about an extra 3-4 weeks to get back on track. I figured they'd be playing well before Niedermayer or Selanne returned but due to injuries/etc it took a little extra time. If Selanne comes back then only Detroit would stand in their way.
Truth be told....if the Ducks go down in a hard fought WCF it would all have been worth it. Losing to any other team to me is unacceptable.
