My favorite has to be Melrose since he got them the farthest in their history. Then he and the GMs (Beverly & McMaster) proceeded to transform a team that was 3 wins away from the Stanley Cup to a bigger & slower team. Melrose kept saying after the '93 run that we needed to get bigger. That was maybe the fastest Kings team I've ever seen, and they were plenty tough (very unlike today's team).
I liked Robinson as a player - it was actually kinda funny to see his last few years here how many oppposing team shots scored when the puck bounced off his skate or his butt. I think he scored more for the opposition than for the Kings his last year here.
But when as coach playing the Blues in the playoffs, and Courtnal ran Storr (which began one of the most painful games to watch in Kings history) Robinson didn't have ANYONE run Grant Fuhr. After that dirty play by the Blues went entirely unpunished - that was inexcusable, IMO.
