Kings Record with KFC in Attendance: (0-2)
I see the rationale, and do agree with it, but what would it do to his head if he won the job, but it was given to someone whom he clearly beat out?
If he wins the No. 1 job, he should have the No. 1 job.
You're right. But I still think he should start off in Manchester. Just to give the Monarch fan base a little something to make up for having to watch Cloutier last season.
I think it will be just like last season. If he earns the starting job out of training camp, he'll start the season with the Kings. If the team defense is just as horrid as last year's then he'll get sent to Manchester early. He may not like getting sent down, but look what Daniel Taylor went through. I think Taylor is a better player today because of the experiences he went through.
Heres the question....if he makes the team can he top the marks set by another highly touted young goalie playing on a substandard team in his first couple of seasons?

I remember his first-ever game. As I recall, the Kings lit him up.
I would like to see him start in Manchester, and then get worked in as the season progresses. For his own good, I hope he is not thrown into the fire. Goalies are written off very quickly in LA. Take a look at Huet for example.
Confidence is not something that is effected so much by losing as it is by the way you lose. If the team is not doing a damn thing to help out. Not clearing the crease, not whacking people who come at your goalies not protecting the keeper then let Bernier play safely in the minors til we can do all of the aforementioned. If we have young guys who have respect for each other and have played together I think you will see a lot more effort.
LA Kings "We mean business"
I'd prefer, LA Kings "you may score 10 goals a game on us, but we're going to kill you!"
