About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. It's always nice to have two good goalies, wouldn't it be great to have a JLB-Garon tandem?

Garon proved to be a capable starter with a mediocre Los Angeles team under coach Andy Murray in 2005-06. The Kings won 42 games, 31 of those with Garon. He was 31-26-3 in 63 games.
Despite a breakthrough season, Garon played just 32 games last season when Marc Crawford took over as coach and deemed Dan Cloutier, who had inked a three-year deal, the starter.
Garon went 13-10-6 with a 2.66 GAA and .907 save percentage, but it became obvious he'd have to look elsewhere for his opportunity. Enter the Oilers.
"I thought going to LA would be my chance," Garon said. "They changed the coach and the GM. I was not the guy any more. I knew I would not get a chance, so it was best for me to get out of there.
The funny part about it is that they treated him like he sucked ball even though the problems he was having with his glove probably were because he was playing with a busted up glove hand.
He's consistently started off strong and tapered off toward the end of the year... what makes anyone think this year will be any different?
Some goalies just take a little while to get their stamina up to NHL standards. And others are best in a 1/1a system. Garon may keep this up, he may not. But I don't think there's much arguing that he's better than the guy he got brushed aside for (Cloutier) and the guy they signed to replace him (Aubin).
