The funny part about it is that they treated him like he sucked ball even though the problems he was having with his glove probably were because he was playing with a busted up glove hand.
Huh? The problem wasn't that pucks were hitting him in the glove and bouncing out, dude couldn't get his glove there in the first place.

I miss Garon about as much as I miss that bout of chlamydia from back in '94...

I remember a number of times where the puck did hit his glove and he was unable to hold on. One in particular was against Anaheim at the Stapler when the Ducks tired it at 2 late in the 3rd period on a goal by Penner.
My buddy and I would laugh about it because we started calling them "Garon Specials." I think a lot of teams give up on goalies a bit too quickly. In my opinion LA is one of the guiltier teams when it comes to this. Garon needed a shot and a decent defense much like any other goaltender. I just don't think that LA, with the defense that they have put out on the ice the past 2 seasons, can adequately evaluate goaltending performance. At the very least I think it handicaps them a bit.
Garon is better than Aubin, better than Cloutier (right now) and in my opinion on par with Labarbera, but even if you say he's better than Labarbera, the bottom line is when this team is ready to compete for something worthwhile they'll need a goalie who is FAR better than Garon. Don't miss him one bit. Maybe we'd be in fourth last if we had kept him, instead of last. Too bad.
