No change this year at all from last. What hope is there for next? Not much.
I can't say I fully agree with that. The 2nd half of this season has featured a much improved commitment to limiting those higher quality shots. That commitment has manifest itself into a better win-loss record.
15-24-2 over the first 41 games
14-16-4 over the next 34 games
Since their second 8 game+ losing streak ended on Dec 29. the team is 17-16-4
That's clearly an improvement over the horrible hockey we watched this team play from Oct-mid Dec.
If this team can play .500 hockey next year I'd consider the season a very big success.

Well, I think we just need bigger goalie pads. You know what, Dan Cloutier is 6'1" and JS Giguere is the same height, but Giguere wears an XXXXXXL chest protector custom fit for shaq and leg pads with size 37" + 15". Here is an artist rendering of the new and improved Dan Cloutier, "Giguere style":

He's still out of position so the beachball can still get past him.

Recently Giguere was caught, and reprimanded, for tucking his chest protector into his pants. He did this so everytime he would go down, his chest protector would jack up a little higher.
