What does everyone think - are the Kings ACTUALLY the worst team in the NHL? I mean the Pacific division is a tough one, that trip to London didn't help much, oh, and a special "thank you" to Ryan Smyth for his assistance on that December losing streak.
Looking at goal differential (currently):
Atlanta looks pretty bad at -51
The Isles are -45
LA and St. Louis -33
Tampa Bay -27
I have to admit, I don't have time to watch too much of the other teams as I would like. It's hard enough just pushing everything out of the way to watch every Kings game. Maybe those of you that have seen the other teams play more can give your opinion?
They are not the worst team talent wise, they are just weak at a couple of key positions, injury prone, and are heavily offensively based. Almost all of their players are offensive talents rather than defensive. They do not have one defensively minded defenseman and most of their forwards are offensive talents that do not contribute heavily on defense. Let's wait till next season before we condemn them or analyze them again. We will be losing a lot of contracts, people will be healed and rested, we have one of the biggest drafts in franchise history ahead of us, and it is frivolous to question their capability now that they are locked so low. We will be better next year. GO KINGS!
The best analogy to describe this years Kings, is that of breaking in a baseball glove. It's new, and in this form it is hard to use, but it is being oiled everyday, and being crushed under the bed. In some instances it works absolutely fantastic, and you know it could be the best on the field. As long as it is worn in properly.

Except if the guy holding the glove doesn't know what the FU** he is doing, then a good glove goes to waste!
I really don't think there's a way of telling the worst team in the league anymore. Not until each team gets to play each other at least twice a season instead of playing 4 teams 5 or 6 times each.
