Dude...KF17...HE WAS PLAYING HURT...END OF ARGUMENT.
Sorry, can't agree with you on this one. I saw him play almost every home game in October and November in person. On most nights Blake just didn't have a fire in his belly.

I imagine its difficult to get a fire in your belly when it still hurts to skate..
I wouldn't mind seeing Blake not come back next year if we had adequate replacements for his position, but we don't. We already have one hole to fill with Modry gone, and that spot can be taken by Harrold, but we are most likely going to have a 2nd hole to fill with either Stuart or Preissing gone (maybe both), and unless Hickey is ready to jump from Juniors into the NHL without going to Manchester (which I doubt) then we don't have quality defensive prospects to fill all our holes. We might be able to plug some gaps during free-agency in the summer, but I think they will be a down-grade, and all acquisitions are always a hit or miss. Team chemistry is so important, and finding the right defensive pairs and forward line combinations is key. So yes, I'll take a HEALTHY Rob Blake back opposed to the other UFA's available this off-season (with possible exception to Wade Redden and Brian Campbell).
