Why the HELL people here keep wet dreaming about players like Pfhfaneufhf?!

Why not trade for 2 TOUGH DEFENSIVE defenders on relatively cheap contracts rather than trading for 1 two-way/off. defender, who will demand BIG $$$?

The fact is, that with Visnovsky and Preissing, we already have 2-way (although not so quality) defenders with quite big contracts, and we also have JMFJ...and this is considering that Blake and Stuart are gone at the deadline.


If we trade Stuart and Blake, I would oppose ANY trade involving our very valuable assets for something we already have (underperforming...)
Team that SUCKS in D-zone should look for defensive minded players rather than offensive minded ones, especially if we're talking about defensemen.

He hasn't proven much yet, and it would be absolutely silly to consider him as an untouchable at this point. I'd hate to miss out on a great trade opportunity just because JMFJ is not an option to management.

With Tanguay on the way out (I see him going for picks and or prospects with little cap hit), I also doubt Calgary trades Phaneuf . . . but if they did, I would happily give the Kings' #1 pick + a core youngster and a prospect for Phaneuf and then pay him.

Those kinds of players don't come along very often.

My point was that the Kings would benefit MUCH more with 2 SOLID, PHYSICAL, TOUGH DEFENSIVE D-men instead of 1 Phanfuef.
