Yea if think this year was rough, then don't expect flowers next year!
Basically, next year we will tank all season in last! and CBGB will post a million pictures of people screaming TAVAAAAAAAARES, and then we will win a meaningless game, and miss Tavares by one pick and I will call for Dean's head, and everyone hear will be like "I like pancakes!" followed by "Dean has been a savoir to this franchise, he has built so many reserves and assets, no GM has ever made the Kings future look this bright!" Who knows maybe it'll be different, but based on what we got.
Brown Kopitar Sully
Frolov Army Cammy
Moulson Boyle Purcell
Calder Handzus Ivanans
-Our offense looks good, first line will do good, Second line with army will be nothing exciting, our third line is homegrown, Our fourth line has a great fighter in Raitis, Handzus has something to prove, and calder is a veteran gritty forward, like Pat Conacher.
Blake/UFA Johnson
Lubo Priessing
Doughty UFA/Harrold/Hickey
-Our Defense is going to suck again. Blake will get a 4-5 mill contract, and still suck, Jonhson will look like Lubo did all season, trying to make up for Blake's crap playing. Preissing and Lubo are both offensive minded and both will struggle in the defensive end. Doughty will be forced to learn how to play stay at home D like Johnson did his first year and his production wont be what we all hype him up to be. Harrold just sucks and I hope is he a 7th defenseman; with our UFA hopefully we sign Commodore. He could be a good stay at home Defense while Doughty concentrate on scoring and learning.
Labs/ Ersberg
-Our goaltending won't be anything special, since neither goalie has had any playoff experience. Labs will go on a couple of hot streaks and then give up ****ty goals. Ersberg will have some stunning streaks, before everyone learns to go top shelf on him. Plus with our defense, you can't expect too much from either Goalie.
If we miss the Tavares pick then we draft Hedman...who is better shhhsh our secret
Really don't want to get into the tired Armstrong debate again but I do want to say one thing...
The "Armstrong is a 4th liner being thrown in to a 2nd liner role!" argument just doesn't work anymore. For the last 2 - 3 years, he has spent more time on the 2nd line than he has on the 4th.
He IS a 2nd line center for this team. The stupid ass "Army haters don't realize he just isn't being used properly" line makes no sense seeing as you won't find ANY of us bashing his character or his effort or his leadership in the lockerroom.
IF he was a 4th liner, I wouldn't have the problem with him that I do. He IS a 2nd liner on this team and thus can be judged as one; a slow one with not nearly enough talent to keep uo with his linemates or be a legitimate scoring threat for this team.
Is it that much to ask that our character guys have some skill too?? Can't someone give 110% each shift and actually be good at hockey? Is wanting that such a crime?
Actually... I think it is a better lineup than what we iced this year. The kids are, in my opinion, an overall upgrade to willsie, nagy, etc. The core will be better (Brown, Frolov, Anze, Cam, Sully, Johnson, etc) and the goaltending will be at least somewhat better, if not substancially better. Next season will show an upward trend.
