We do seem to make a concerted effort to acquire at least one player that has already suffered a career-destroying injury every year. Bure, McCauley, Quintal, Cloutier, Handzus...

Maybe Edmonton would trade us Souray. He's got the "LA Kings Trifecta" going on - he's massively overpaid, terrible defensively, AND he just suffered a career-threatening injury.
