I'm sure bitching about Kredell will make him want to try harder, right?

I concur 100%, with Rich in his new position it's only a good thing for Kings coverage in the paper. He knows first hand how much we crave for better Kings coverage. The Kings blog is only 2nd to the USC one on hits, beating out the Lakers, Dodgers, Clippers & UCLA. Hopefully they get back to following the Kings on the road again.

if he's a good reporter, yes.

if he's not interested in satisfying his audience, he might want to look into other work.

that's how the newspaper business works.

Yea, but the Kings have never had too much coverage. Lets give him a chance, hopefully he'll get us more quotes from the GM/coaches/players/etc. That's all I really want, I couldn't care less about other parts of the blog.

I respect your opinion. That being said, reading my blogs is voluntary. Lucky for Matt and I, you can read his blogs and ignore mine. No harm done.

Yeah, but would you take Carla Muller over Kat Stein?

I know that I would.

And, why bash Carla that much?

She is far more extensive in presenting her information to the masses in a tight package on her blog than others I've read try to do.

Also, why I don't necessarily feel the need to have to defend myself to others here on why I said "That sucks ass." in the second post of this thread, let me just say the reason that it sucks is that I don't think a full hockey-educated opinion is going to be brought to the table with Kredell than it did with Hammond....for the time being.

Yeah, I know Rich Hammond had warned the blog readers that he may be reassigned in the near future. But, until Kredell lives and breathes a little more puck, something will be lacking from the blog. That's not necessarily a bashing of his work, but just one man's opinion.

Flame on it if you wish...."suck it!" if you do.

Lovingly Yours,

PolarBear1

LGK seems to think that Rich is Superman, and Matt is Jimmy Olson.

I'm just going to assume that Kredell is reading this thread, so I'm going to voice some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism of his work. Feel free to agree or disagree.

1) I don't think you really need to blog the scores of the games DURING the games. Most of us are watching anyway, and those of us with the RSS feed of the blog don't really need to come back to 6 new posts telling us the score period-by-period.

2) By that token, I personally prefer fewer posts, but with longer articles--as opposed to short little blurbs coming in 3 times a day.

3) You're doing a great job getting quotes from the locker room. Keep it up!

4) Sometimes there's a wee bit too much pessimism and cynicism in your posts. Yes, LGK is a haven for manic-depression, but please don't sink to our level in your blog.

Take it or leave it!

I second this. Well said.

Oh, and as for Carla, I really disagree that there is anything "wrong" with her blog and her opinions. She puts a lot of effort into her articles, genuinely seems to "care" about the team, and has a good deal of hockey knowledge (even if some of you bash her on that point - is it because she's a woman?). Dude, face it, Carla seems to understand more about hockey than AT LEAST 80% of LGK. And even if I'm wrong, I still enjoy her posts - much more than I enjoy the 1-liners that dribble out of Inside the Kings these days.
