they pick 4th over all so perhaps the dallas pick and a forward prospect for their pick or a roster player and the dallas pick for jackman? i doubt cammy cuz of andy murray but you never know. thoughts?
I agree with Bogey. They are building what DL is trying to build this very draft. A young 1-2 punch and a wealth of young defensive talent much like Nashville. I think it would cost way too much to acquire one of their young defenseman, much more than the Pred's even. It is pretty evident that DL wants to build most of this team internally and we are beginning to see that as a very real possibility. Pretty soon we will have Jack Johnson, Doughty/Bogosian, Hickey, and potentially another prospect (maybe even Myers if DL goes through with trading up that Dallas pick) all in our lineup on the back-end. We already have one of the best core young offensive talents in the league and now we are starting to see the Kings develop one of the best core young Defensive talents in the league... Throw in our goalie prospects and we are a future team to beat. I would take your finger off that trigger and ride it out for a while. I think if DL acquires a defenseman this offseason it will be a temporary UFA like Orpik much like the Stuart deal to tide us over till our youth catch up.

I see the Blues keeping their pick and drafting one of the coveted four, too.
On a slightly different note, I was checking out the Panthers' board on HF regarding re-signing Bouwmeester to a new contract, and they had this thread already covering it: Bouwmeester contract talk - HFBoards
Would trading our pick be fair? It seems like their GM has also stated that he wants to sign a puck-moving offensive-defenseman in the summer, and I'm pretty sure we have a few of those, too...
what about the blues as a trading partner?
