I'm not saying he's going down the tubes or anything,
but the production drop is disappointing.
To go from over 1.3 pts/game to below 1/2pt is a drag.
I assume SSM acquired him at least partly for offense & hopefully is giving him every chance to play on the PP, scoring lines, etc.
Hopefully, his numbers will rise over the last part of the season (which is past the mid-point now), as he gets more used to his new teammates.
I find myself really pulling for this kid.
According to my cousin, who lives in the soo and is a season ticket holder; all he needs is some time to gel. He loves what he sees from Simmond on the ice and in his words "he's gonna be great for you, wish my leafs had him."
It could be a team canada like situation in which he's playing along side much better players and is seeing less ice time as a result.
Otherwise, as some have pointed out, he's only played 7 games w/ them. He's in unfamiliar territory (not used to his linemates yet, the system, etc.) I think it's way too early to be disappointed.
Wayne will pull through!!! Have faith in Wayne!!!!!
The Sioux is an awesome team with lots of talent. My old roommate would always go one about how they just murdered some team. Although Simmonds is good, id still like to have TJ Oshie.

When people talk about the Soo, they're talking about the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds... not the Fighting Sioux.
