Versus and nhl network subscribers

I was in a discussion with a co-worker and the following was discussed on how many
subscibers that Versus and the Nhl Network presently have? Does anyone know that
answer.This was discussed because of the limited access of most people to get either
one of these channels.For hockey to have a more of appeal to the public they need
to get back onto Espn.Is there any word that Espn wants to get hockey back or not?

The NHL was on ESPN before and no one watched it, I don't think it makes much difference except to the hockey fans that can't get Versus or NHLN.

Those of us that love hockey, watch hockey. Those that don't are usually not "brought into" the sport by what channel it is on, but by attending a live game, once you are hooked, then TV becomes an issue.

HD is making this a better TV game, if you are a hockey fan and don't have HD you are missing so much!

well the good news is verses just signed a three year extension to the rights to the nhl. which is actually good news because it means the nhl isn't happy with their situation and my guess is espn or even another network has an opening in three years the nhl could fill
