About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I thought we'd found our 2nd line center in Boyle? I wouldn't mind them giving Boyle a good long look in that spot next year.
howcome there ain't no Daymond Langkow on that list? what, does he have to score 37 more goals and 15 assists tonight for some of you to figure it out?
Langkow is a damn good player. He'd be a fine compliment to Kopitar as the #2 center. I think his point totals are a tad inflated as he gets a ton of ice time with Iginla, that being said I'd love to see what he and Frolov could do together.
I like Rolston as well, but his point numbers have been dropping the last few seasons. I don't think he's as natural a center as Langkow is either. Rolston is bigger and probably still has better wheels than Langkow, but Langkow is grittier despite being smaller while Rolston from time to time floats.
For second line duty we have Boyle and Zus who can split time until Boyle is ready to take it full time. In addition, I would suspect Army will be back... that gives us options at second line center. Assuming Cam isn't dealt, the top six will have Brown, Kopi, Sully, Squid, Frolov, and a rotation of Zus/Boyle/Moulson/Purcell etc. That is a solid top six with room to grow. Zus has shown signs that he may regain top six form. Why throw even more coin at the center position while bumping/blocking out the Kids who are suppose to develop into those roles
Langkow would be a great addition. Also, isn't Sakic a UFA? If he doesn't return to the Avs I wouldn't mind signing him to a short term deal.
As far as goaltending goes, Huet would be a nice stopgap until Bernier is ready.
D-men that interest me are Redden, Commodore, and Smith.
I'd love to have Sakic on the team....I'd buy a Sakic jersey in a heartbeat. He is basically Mr. Avalanche/Nordiques though, so I have my doubts of it happening.

Indeed. The "emergence" of Brian Boyle is going to make this very interesting. In fact, with Moulson and Purcell also looking like they could very well be NHL-ready next season, I wouldn't be surprised if Lombardi wasn't all that active this off-season.
Obviously, we could use a little help in the back, still...

Um if we sign anybody it should be any cheap stay @ home d + DANNY BOYLE
if split time between zus/boyle is the ideal sitch for the seconline center hole lets not forget Stamkos is a likley candidate
