About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Here are two charts with predicted points based on last 10 games played and last 18 games played (since some people mentioned that was the turning point for Kings).

This is just statistics, so interpret it as statistics.
Kings are playing very well for last 10-18 games, they are a 100+ team. So keep in mind that Kings can probably play only worse than the current form. At least that's my opinion, it's not very probable that they keep the same form for last 25 games.
One final note - we can't suck the way some of you big fans want us to suck. We can't lose every single game, like you would prefer. Guys just shooting the puck and not aiming at all are still going to get more points than Islanders if they continue to suck this much. So just relax and enjoy. Stamkos is a history, there is absolutely no way we can get #1 lottery spot (but we could win the lottery!!)
Based on last 10 games:
Code:
01 62 Islanders
02 70 St.Louis
03 75 Atlanta
04 77 Carolina
05 78 Edmonton
06 81 Vancouver
07 83 Florida
08 83 Toronto
09 84 Columbus
10 84 LA Kings
11 84 Tampa
12 86 Chicago
13 89 Calgary
14 94 Phoenix
15 95 Buffallo
Based on last 18 games:
Code:
01 71 Islanders
02 75 Chicago
03 76 Toronto
04 76 Tampa
05 77 Florida
06 78 Carolina
07 80 St.Louis
08 81 Atlanta
09 83 LA Kings
10 84 Edmonton
11 86 Buffallo
12 87 Columbus
13 88 Vancouver
14 94 Calgary
15 96 Phoenix
Edit: the last teams' order might not be correct. The reason is, that these are the only teams I collected data for. So number 14 or 15 could be some other team which is currently ahead of them at the moment.

You can say that the Kings started turning their season around after Christmas but realistically it didn't happen until after the game with Nashville on January 8th where the Kings got pasted 7-0.

I got your point and I wasn't completely convinced either, but if you check Kings points in both charts, you can see that they are indeed playing with the same point production for last 10 vs. last 18 games.
The thing about projection is that it is always fluctuating given current and past results.
Well, of course. I am not predicting anything. I'm just saying how it is going to be if all teams play like they've played for last 10 or 18 games. That's all. We know that's not going to happen.
Interestingly Dallas season turned around after they gave up a 4 goal 3rd period to the Kings and lost. Sometimes, those are the best losses you can have because it really makes you look inside yourself and question what you are doing. Often times when you do that you realize you could be giveing more, you do, then you win. Go Kings!
Starting March 18th through the end of the season, we're going to get our asses handed to us by the rest of our division, where we are 4 games under .500.
And that's 3 weeks after the trading deadline, and we're not going to improve our team, we're going to decimate it.
Trends are trends, and we are playing better, but there will be a decline from the 26th through the end of the year.
