About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. funny, i thought he played one of his better games in a while last night.
i think it's funny that people are surprised that a guy that idolizes joe sakic, who would need to be presented with his newborn son in the stanley cup to so much as crack a smile, isn't an ebullient performer.
i agree with those who don't understand the unsubstantiated hatred for this guy. yes, i agree he is not performing the best as of late. i would not shed a tear if we traded him and got equal value. but he's still a top 6 forward on our team, and plays with a lot of heart.
does he not pass enough? maybe. does kopitar not shoot enough? maybe. some players are shooters, some players are playmakers.
He's obviously had an off year.
If we get Stamkos we would have 2 (on paper) excellent lines to throw out there. Squid has his place on the team, I just would rather he not be tasked to carry the puck into the zone, he isn't that fast so he has to try to make more risky stick handles that oftentimes fail.
You guys complain about the way he shoots and whatnot... but that goes the same for our damn PP. He's just positioned in the same spot (to the side of the goalie). It's not just him who does the same thing. Kopi does the same thing, everything has been stale on the PP. We were 4th in the league for most of the PP this year, but have dropped to around the 15th spot the last 10-15 games because of the same crap the Kings do on the ice.
Cammy probably reacted the way he did when Brownie knocked in his 32nd goal because he was upset with himself for being unable to score. But yes, he should have reacted better anyhow. Cammy doesn't cheer when he scores, but he's usually happy for others when they do. He's probably not happy with others anymore because he can't score himself.
So far, I like the lines of Kopi, O'Sully, Brownie. And Cammy, Army, Fro.
If those two lines produced like crazy, none of you would be complaining. But I don't blame you guys. We are last in the league for a reason
I think Lombardi is going to hold onto Cammalleri through the draft. Although teams are and will continue to be interested in him, they are and are going to continue to be concerned if they'll be able to keep him beyond next season and what it will cost to do so. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Cammalleri started next season with the Kings. Lombardi's not going to give up a year of an asset of Cammalleri's level for the fear of losing him for nothing next season...

Absolutely. You just know some internet GM is going to get hired by an NHL team as their GM and want to make a splash by completely overpaying for one-season of Cammalleri...
