About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I agree w/ the original post.
I wrote it elsewhere, but 2nd is actually great for the Kings.
They will draft the BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE and fill a huge TEAM
Look at it this way, we are what we are! We are not OC fake fans. We don't jump off the ship when its sinking. And we don't ride the it going up either. We are kinda like inflicting pain. Thats why we love the Kings!
Sitting in an internet cafe in Paris every day in March/April of 2004 and watching a mediocre team disintegrate even further before our very eyes. Watching the Kings drop in the standings further and further every day. That was difficult.
What is going on now, is much, much, MUCH more agreeable.

At least you were in Paris... I can think of worse places to be - like in my seat watching it live.
And yes, this year and last have been much easier to deal with. So long as DL keeps hitting doubles, triples and home runs with the draft and prospects via trades - it'll only get better. I don't envy the job he has though.
This response to a fairly well thought out, researched and fresh perspective is something I so appreciate and respect. Your response, CGBG, is anything but that.
I get that you have a great following here as a contrarian who can always find a way to make a positive a negative ... just because you can. That is a heck of a downer way to navigative life. It works for you, so great and I respect that.
That is not the same as you have the right to ask the rest of us to join you in your glass half-empty world; or the right to impugn someone else who tries another tack -- something I applaud and appreciate.
It can and often is challenging to be a Kings' fan some of the time. Then there is the rest of the time where I truly love it and wouldn't have it any other way. I proudly consider myself an optimistic who chooses to consider all possibilities -- not just the negative ones solely b/c they are so much easier to live by. Being positive takes work. Being negative just requires someone to blame.
out of curiosity how long have you been a King fan?

In some ways it made it worse though, not that I could do anything to help, but ****, I would have at least liked to have been screaming at my television. Instead I got to watch guys with xtreme wrist guards and gretzky titan sticks play roller hockey with stoppers and ski-boot buckle roller blades down near Republique.
at the same salary, who would you take blake or norstrom. cuz norstrom is coming back according to the not so subtle hints lombardi was giving last year. maybe both?
I doubt that highly. Last summer, during the Select-a-Seat, Lombardi was asked whether Norstrom would be reacquired. The pregnant pause before he responded was deafening, he finally said something like perhaps a position within the organization after he retires.
Also, I have read articles, (sorry, I forget where), that said Norstrom is planning to go in the Swedish Elite League next season after his contract runs out. I heard Lombardi said a past guy might be back, not Norstrom. Perhaps you or others know more, but I would be shocked if Norstrom played for the Kings again.
