Been reading hockey stuff all day today waiting for the lottery and read in FanNation and the Toronto Sun about Redden unlikely to re-sign with Ottowa and that they believe one of the most likely destinations he will wind up is LA. What do you guys think? Obviously pure speculation and rumor but I was wondering what everyone would think if the Kings did ink Redden to a potentially heavy contract? Think he would be a good pairing with LuboCookie on the second pairing under JMFJ and Blake or even swap with one of the top pairings? Discuss.
I am just wondering if anyone believes Redden could make a good pairing in LA? I personally don't think so, but we are weak on defense and would like to hear some thoughts on the Redden possibility. Perhaps, Lombardi could get a Stuart-like deal at $6.0-6.5 for a single season since he is coming off a shaky season, although likely to go for $6.5-7.5 with benefits. What about the possibility of allowing Blake to hit free agency and picking up Redden instead? I think many here would rather give that money to Redden over Blake... Of course considering that we still have JMFJ and Kopitar extensions coming up next season.
