Indicated last night that he may have likely played his last game as in Ottawa. UFA this summer. He's a WHL guy and knowing Deano's love of the Western Hockey League, i wouldn't be surprised to see the Kings make a run for him.
In fact, I wonder if a Redden signing might bring about the possibility of Visnovsky being dealt. I've never thought there was much love lost between Lubo, Crow and Deano. Redden's a year younger and three inches taller than Lubo.
Maybe a deal with St Louis would be likely. Reunite Lubo with Andy Murray, with maybe a pick or two coming back this way.
it isn't the money. it's the length of time and the NMC that the contract would include to even get Wade to consider a move out west, let alone to Los Angeles and the Kings... and for a defenseman as soft as Redden is, i say nay, BIGTIME!
In what most consider to be Visnovsky's worst season as a King he still managed to outproduce Redden. In the three years since the lockout, Redden has never gotten more points than Visnovsky.
The extra three-inches in height isn't worth THAT much, and frankly, I'd rather deal with the devil I know than with the one I don't.
I don't think there's a hole that Redden would be filling, and I don't want another soft defenseman. But he is used to losing so he might be a good fit anyways.
When he was a UFA last time one of his "friends" posted on the HF boards and said (paraphrasing) "under no condition will Redden ever play for the Kings"
