Thomas Hickey has enjoyed a solid season as the Captain of the Seattle Thunderbirds. Hickey has excellent character as a leader and player and leads by example on the ice. It is a tremendous honor that he was named Captain of the Thunderbirds as an 18 year old player.

He will most likely NOT be a big point-producing defenseman (or he would be showing more dominance offensively right now at the Junior level, I would think).
Hey, good-skating small D-men who don't produce a whole lot of points are
great to have---Especially if they are aggressive and physical.
Uh, Hickey is real aggressive and physical for his size, right?
No?
OK, I'll re-phrase that:
Small, good-skating D-men who aren't particularly physical and who don't produce
a lot of points are great to have on your NHL team.
It's so exzciting to think Hickey might be even better than Mike Weaver!

Yea, my biggest fear is we drafted Bret Hedican at #4. I like what I read about Hickey, rounding out his game, being a leader and such. But even ardent Hickey supporters should be at the very least skeptical of him not producing points at a higher clip. Not being so would just be naive.
I know He is going to be a great player. I even got a game worn autographed Jersey of his. I have worn it to one Kings game this year. I will wear it either tonight or Saturdays game. I can hardly wait till he get's here.
He's playing in the WHL which is a much lower scoring league then the OHL. So don't read too much into his stats. Although it does make Oscar Moller's stats even more impressive.
