Maybe the problem isn't that God hates the Kings, but that Kings fans hate God...

Given there are few positions fill in hockey this is probably true. If you have a need you simply move down in the draft to get it. Sometimes circumstances allows this...other times not.

If the Kings win the lotter on Monday it just gives Lombardi a lot of leverage to do what they feel is best. You have to weight the need against the obvious "hype" and tix sales that would come if they choose to take Stamkos. It's a tough call for the Kings, imo.

Honestly, moving from #2 to #3 isn't nearly as big a problem for me as going from #1 to #2.

#1 to #2: kick in the nuts with powerful nutkicking machine

#2 to #3: small ankle sprain which you can walk off

I don't really see the huge advantage Doughty has over Pieterangelo/Bogosian/Filitov.

But Stamkos would have been SO NICE to center the second line.

If the Kings hit paydirt, they draft stamkos. its a lock.
If they draft second, they take doughty. also a lock.
If they draft third...all hell breaks loose.

I have no problem with that. Though, I would not be totally suprised if we end up with Doughty at #3, because Alex is gone. Who knows.......

Question, when the lottery is final can teams start talking about trades once the playoffs end or do they have to wait until the actual Draft day to even contact another team?
