About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Yes, another Stamkos thread.
I can only imagine SS watching his Center-Ice package and cheering every time the Kings lose.
Seriously, where would YOU rather play?

Seriously, where would YOU rather play?
a) Los Angeles - great weather, hot girls, crummy team, but a media haven
b) Tampa Bay - overshadowed by VL and Tampa absolutely SUCKS as a city
c) Atlanta - 2nd fiddle to Kovalchuk and another painful city
d) St Louis - Andy Murray will have him on the 4th line with 6 minutes a game.
e) Islanders - playing in THAT dump?
Now, with THAT said.
NASHVILLE desperately needs a marquee player to keep the fans. They have the 10th pick (and the 13th) AND the D-men DL covets. Should the Kings win the lottery, Nashville does this in a heartbeat. Question is, with pick #10 are the 4 horsemen (Doughty, Pietrangelo, Schenn, Bogosian) still on the boards?
Or does Nashville go completely insane and give up the #10, #13 and a D-man for Stamkos and the 1st pick in the 2nd round?
TORONTO is where he said he would like to play, the problem is, what the hell does Toronto have to offer? Oreskovic? Please.
Yes, I am bored

Nashville gave up more than that to get Forsberg for a month... they would pay dearly to get Stamkos for 7 years.

In his interview with don he could only think of the weather and prospects as pros for LA and the weather and current guys as pros for TB. Me thinks he's watching the weather channel, not center ice
It all depends on the Dman that is coming the other way - If its Weber I'm in for sure - I posted that a long time ago - So if its Weber - yes - Suter I wouldnt give up the 30th pick as well for Suter - Maybe the Detriot second rounder we got for Stuart.
I've never really been too overly key on drafting Stamkos cause I dont see him fitting in next year and we.as Kings fans, need next year to be a exponentially better year than this year. Weber or Suter and one of the "4 Horesemen" as you call them wouild be a great start.

I think Nashville's going to sneak into the playoffs with Vancouver out so their 1st round pick looks dicey at best right now. I don't think they have enough to get Stamkos from us unless it was something like: Suter, Franson, + 1st round
b) Tampa Bay - overshadowed by VL and Tampa absolutely SUCKS as a city
Vinny is UFA after next year. While I would expect Tampa to throw a truckload of money at him, there remains the possibility that Stamkos would be the heir apparent to VL.

Heatley seemed to do fine as "2nd fiddle" before respectfully asking for a trade because of the accident. Nothing I've read about Stamkos would even suggest Stamkos would remotely care about being second fiddle. That Malkin guy seems to be doing well in Pittsburgh as 2nd fiddle to Crosby.

Do you think Stamkos will outlast the coach of any team that drafts him? That'd be like saying Andy Murray would have never played Kopitar.....except Murray had been canned before he ever had the chance.

....well, at least it's in New York.

Just going off of other people's analysis, it seems somewhat doubtful that any one of the "4 horsemen" is still there at 10. Trading down from #1 to #10 would seem like an eternity if you're assuming one of them drops.

Depends on the D-man but I don't think that's outlandish at all. Honestly if it's any of their D not named Weber, I think it's the kind of trade I pull off if I'm Nashville.
Most pundits think the first tier of the draft is 8 players deep and then there's a drop off. Just off that, it's not shaping up to be 2003 where you could get a Ryan Getzlaf later and expect him to be just as good as Eric Staal or Nathan Horton in the top 5.
If the Kings are in the position to take Stamkos and the braintrust has him as the clearcut #1, I think you do the simple thing and just draft him.
Your proposal reminds me of 1998 when Pierre Lacroix tried desperately to trade for Vincent Lecavalier. Supposedly he offered FOUR first round picks (12, 17, 19, 20) but Tampa opted for the sure(r) thing. Colorado got a nice haul as well: Tanguay/Skoula/Regehr/Parker.
