JJ Played way better and one day WILL deserve a badass nickname. Labs played great as well. I always feel for the guy cause obviously some of the Dmen want the Kings to lose as well. Thornton and Linden BOTH scored? Now I've seen everything (including a man eat his own head). GO KINGS GO!!!

We have Detroit and Anaheim on deck then a nice long 8 game road trip - the chances of the Kings finishing that trip 4-4 are slim and none.
It was a great win.
Now... back to reality.
Just keep rooting for Edmonton. Right now, they are 6th worst, but just 3 point away from being 14th worst.
Of course, if the Kings wind up with that pick, I'll root against Edmonton again. But the more they win, the lamer the pick becomes.
And for crying out loud, can Dallas lose a few MORE please?
Right now they are the 4th best team in the league without Boucher and Zubov. The #26 pick sucks. #15 is much better and they are only 8 points ahead in THAT spot!

You're probably still celebrating the meaningless last win of last season that cost the Kings Kyle Turris. There is the second line center we've needed the last decade of mediocrity and 1 playoff appearance. This team will never go beyond round one in the playoffs, let alone make them, with Derek Armstrong as a second line center. Stamkos will be the second line center NEXT year if the Kings can hold down last place and win the lotto. The Kings' defense corps is terrible. If the Kings finish last and lose the lotto, Doughty will be on the Kings next year and will be better than Johnson, by his second NHL season. Dean will probably take Doughty first overall, over Stamkos.
If the Kings fall out of position 30 or 29 at the end of the season, you will learn in 2 years what the Kings lost out in Stamkos and Doughty. The Kings will once again win 7 out of their last ten games at the end of the year. Your reward will be either Cody Hodgson, Zah Boychuk, Colton Tuebert or Colby Roback. In 3 years, you will remember this post as you watch highlight films of Stamkos and Doughty on other teams and read threads about how Hodgson or Robak are doing in Manchester and if they'll ever make it.
The Kings desperately need another top 6 center and a top 2 defenseman. You can't sign these players or trade for them - perhaps a second rate second line center. Handzus got 16 million and he's a 3rd line center. Top free agents won't sign here. They all either want to play with teams in contention for the CUp and / or East Coast teams. We must draft these top players.
I have 8 hours of games on my DVR and have seen Stamkos and Doughty and for 18 year olds, they are phenomenal. I have watched the games 3 times. There are no guarantees, but these 2 are about as good as it gets in terms of real talents in their draft age groups over the last 5 years I've seen.
Go Kings! Win another meaningless game! 29th place will be ours!
