About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. You put a talented center in between your two best goal scorers instead of a guy that belongs on the 4th line and they explode offensively.
So shocking.
don't think it is a coincidence that with Modry and Armstrong out of the lineup the Kings played one of their best games of the year. I've been saying all year that Army is a 4th liner at best and being on the 2nd line was killing us. This team would be battling for 5th or 6th spot now had Armstrong not been on the 2nd line. If he is back next year I'll be f'n pissed!!!

You know that winning games also requires solid defense right? It's not always about how many goals you score, but how few you let in.

getting him the hell off the 2nd unit is a big start. Army is a good guy and all, but as even a 3rd liner, that is very questionable.
When he's the best you have what else are you going to do? Handzus looks like a bum, I guess you can put a rookie there but this late in the season what's the point. O'Sullivan has been playing well with Brown and Kopi so why change that. Personally I think keeping Cammalleri and Frolov together is huge and then we need to find that center.
Armstrong can get the job done but he's not a 2nd line Center. The guy has 29 points, and while this isn't 2nd line center quality at least it's something.

LOVIN the Army hate enthusiasm mike but 5th or 6th? Nice!
[b]This team easily could have 7-10 more wins with better production from the 2nd unit at even strength and the 2nd unit on the PP. The Kings have lost enough close games this year where a talented center in place of Armstrong could have made the difference. If you believe that an upgrade at a given position doesn't make a difference, then stop f'n dreaming and spankin off at the thought of Stamkos, or who the Kings will get at the deadline. The next few games that Army is out will tell the tale 29 pts in 63 games is 3rd line production...
