OP, not meaning to beat a dead horse, but I've worn my Kings dark jersey to the Rangers games vs. other teams (especially that Caps game) at the MSG a few times. no fusses from anyone but compliments.
that said, I'd go with the "Ducks fans are a bunch of douches for giving other teams fans crap" route, but I'll tread carefully with that.
cross town rivals man....same thing with Dodgers/Angels....Dodgers/Giants.......
In closing I think we can all agree that none of this douchebaggery would occur if people would follow my 2 simple suggestions on jersey ownership.
1. Jersey should be left blank (for the frugal sports fan who wants to get the most wear out of their jerseys. Applies to any King fan who has a Roenick jersey)
2. Jersey should contain only the actual name and number of a player. (no nicknames, no personal name and numbers, etc).
Frankly I don't really care what someone puts on thier jersey, I have BLUELINE and #35 on just about every Kings jersey there is. I have no problem with someone spending money to put what they want on a jersey they bought.
I don't agree with players names on jerseys for teams they have never played for...have seen 99 on a Ducks jersey as well as some other teams he never played for.
I have no problem with the Lord Stanley Quack jersey, they won it, if that fan wanted to spend the cash to make that jersey...so be it...at least they did win it. I would have an issue with that jersey had they not won the cup.
I've never been a fan of wearing a jersey to a game for a team not playing...just doesn't make sense to me, but I guess it is just someone announcing that they are a hockey fan...maybe I'll have to wear my Silvertips jersey if I ever find myself at the Ponda and the Kings aren't playing.

apples and oranges man....borrow one of Mitchrocks Islander's jerseys and wear it to MSG for a Rangers/Devils game and see what happens. Certain jerseys in certain arenas will attrack certain aholes. It's just a fact.
Blank isn't just for the frugal fan. As I said in a different thread...
Blank means never having to say they're traded.
xoxoxo
lol
I adopted the "blank" stance after Kariya and Selanne eloped to Colorado and I was left with 8, count em, 8 authentic Kariya and Selanne jerseys. I still have those damn Kariya jerseys in a box somewhere.
Lol, my dad had a robitaille jersey from back in the day and when he came back to play for the kings he whipped that dusty old jersey out to every single game

that's a funny coming from you OP.
you should ebay those kariya jerseys. 8 wow...
The other night I took my friend up on a ticket to see the Ducks vs. RedWings, knowing full well that it'd be a great game. I wore my Kings jersey with pride knowing though that I'd receive a lot of crap, but it was downright abusive. I didn't see another single Kings jersey, as I circulating the top and bottom floors in search for a Budweiser for my friends' dad. Damn, Miller Lite has a monopoly in that building! A Stanley Cup sure gave a lot of bandwagoners something to boast about. I'm thinking of boycotting further non-Kings-Ducks games at the Ponda. It sucks because I just loev hockey and will see a game any time I get a chance... maybe I'll just have to wear street clothes, either that or just endure the crap...

You deserved EVERYTHING you got that night for two reasons. First reason, because you wore a Kings jersey to a Ducks/Wings game in Anaheim and the second reason because you were dumb enough to do so.
Part of wearing your colors in enemy territory requires you take a certain amount of abuse. If you aren't willing to take it then don't wear your jersey. I have been to Staples to see LA play St. Louis and Phoenix in the past few years. What did I wear? I wore a Team Canada jersey once and I wore plain clothes the other time. Why? Because I had enough sense to know that if I had worn a Duck jersey I would be subjected to abuse that I was not in the mood to deal with.

A few weeks ago, a co-worker had come across some tickets to the Leafs-Ducks game. I wasn't about to wear the throwback? Ducks 3rd jersey that an ex-girlfriend gave me, nor was I going to wear my Kings jersey since they weren't playing that night. Instead, I opted to wear my throwback Blackhawks jersey since their game against the Stars had started only 90 minutes earlier.
Not only did I not get any flack for my choice of attire, I actually received compliments on the jersey. Someone in the elevator (dressed in suit and tie with some sort of official looking credentials in place) told me he thought it was a great jersey and asked if I had wore it there several nights earlier.
The bright note of the story... I went, saw a game and didn't spend one red cent in their building.
