About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Isn't there a member of LGK that has his own name with the number 69 on the back of his Kings jersey?
Talk what you will, but speak knowing full well that someone on this board would think that was the best idea EVAR and would have done the same thing if it were the Kings who won the Cup.
Just as Douchebaggery, Haterade comes in several flavors.
THANK YOU!!!
I've seen that jersey theme numerous times from other teams and from other sports as well. No matter who wins a title there will be a group of fans who buy these things. Anyone that thinks that their fanbase wouldn't do something like this because all of them are just too damn cool are fooling themselves.
Oh and Ruley....I like this one a bit better. It indicates what is is that has never been won and doens't need to be updated every year.
The other night I took my friend up on a ticket to see the Ducks vs. RedWings, knowing full well that it'd be a great game. I wore my Kings jersey with pride knowing though that I'd receive a lot of crap, but it was downright abusive. I didn't see another single Kings jersey, as I circulating the top and bottom floors in search for a Budweiser for my friends' dad. Damn, Miller Lite has a monopoly in that building! A Stanley Cup sure gave a lot of bandwagoners something to boast about. I'm thinking of boycotting further non-Kings-Ducks games at the Ponda. It sucks because I just loev hockey and will see a game any time I get a chance... maybe I'll just have to wear street clothes, either that or just endure the crap...
I'm going to give it to you straight because I'm assuming you are a grown up and can take it like a man or at the very least like a "big girl."
You deserved EVERYTHING you got that night for two reasons. First reason, because you wore a Kings jersey to a Ducks/Wings game in Anaheim and the second reason because you were dumb enough to do so.
Part of wearing your colors in enemy territory requires you take a certain amount of abuse. If you aren't willing to take it then don't wear your jersey. I have been to Staples to see LA play St. Louis and Phoenix in the past few years. What did I wear? I wore a Team Canada jersey once and I wore plain clothes the other time. Why? Because I had enough sense to know that if I had worn a Duck jersey I would be subjected to abuse that I was not in the mood to deal with.
There were some strapping young Ducks Fans taunting the concessions stand between 334 and 301 before the 3rd period last night.
"Stanley Cup!", "Well, we have the cup!", and my favorite drunken exclamation, "You guy's haven't won the cup in 45 years!"
I don't care.
It's cool.
They come and sell the place out, spend some money, walk around aimlessly and make many many phone calls on their celphones.
